New Albany, MS – The new Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic at 726 Coulter Drive held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house Friday morning, Feb. 28.
Dr. Eric Frohn, who has been in practice in New Albany for more than 18 years, built the new clinic building on Coulter Drive, moving from the clinic’s former location on Starlyn Lane.
OB/GYN specialists working with Dr. Frohn at the clinic include Dr. Leo Bautista, who joined the clinic in 2015, and Dr. Robert Barnett, who joined more than a year ago.
About 50 people attended and toured the building and enjoyed refreshments after the ribbon was cut by New Albany Mayor Tim Kent. The event was arranged by New Albany’s Community Development Director, Billye Jean Stroud.
Dr. Frohn said the new clinic is about twice the size of the previous facility. It allows the doctors to expand their services, reflecting the growth their practice has undergone. The new clinic has generally been designed to be more family-friendly with larger rooms than those found in older clinics.
Dr. Frohn and his colleagues specialize in the management of regular and high-risk pregnancies. They also provide genetic counseling, various types of ultrasounds and biophysical profiles for fetal surveillance.
Advanced Obstetrics &Gynecology does well-woman and preventive care for females of all generations. The clinic also works with other preventive care, contraception, STD screening, pelvic pain, irregular periods, sexual dysfunction, infertility and a wide range of other gynecological conditions.
Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology provides minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries with some of these being performed in the new procedures room at the clinic.
Dr. Frohn said the goal of Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic is to provide compassionate, patient-centered obstetrical and gynecological services to female patients across North Mississippi.
Regular obstetric deliveries and gynecological surgeries are performed at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County, where about 1,000 babies are born each year. The physicians at Advanced OB/GYN draw patients from a multi-county area of Northeast Mississippi.
Clinic hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
