Alpine homicide victim identified

An official source to NEMiss.news has identified the victim in the apparent homicide in the Alpine community Friday as Sheree Whitt, believed to be in her late 40s.

Her body is in Jackson for autopsy as part of the continuing investigation into her death.

Her body was found in front of a residence on County Road 225, reported to have sustained a gunshot wound.
