Are we alone? Pentagon declassifies Navy pilot UFO videos
UFO enthusiasts are inching closer to seeing their hopes for long-awaited governent disclosure fulfilled.
Yesterday, the Pentagon officially declassified three videos filmed by Navy Pilots documenting their encounters with “unidentified aerial phenomena.” The videos have been in circulation for a few years after being leaked by various sources, but the Pentagon has finally confirmed their authenticity.

Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who in 2007 had pushed for a $22 million program to investigate UFOs, tweeted his support for the release of the footage, but said that these releases “only scratch the surface of research and materials available.”
The Pentagon stated that the, “DOD [Department of Defense] is releasing the videos in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos. The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as ‘unidentified’.”
One of the clips is from 2004 and the other two are from 2015. One clip from 2004 was filmed by two navy fighter pilots and shows a round object hovering above the water, about 100 miles out into the Pacific Ocean. The 2015 clips show oblong objects moving at high speed through the air, one of which is slowly spinning on its axis. In one, a pilot is heard to exclaim: “Look at that thing, dude! It’s rotating!”
Two of these videos had been released by the New York Times in 2017 after unauthorized leaks. Following this report, the Navy formally instituted a reporting process pilotss encounters with the phenomena, and in 2019, the Navy confirmed an uptick in UFO sightings.
