Baptist Union County to Host Free Flu Vaccine Drive-Thru for Community

NEW ALBANY, MISS., September 28, 2020– Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County, located at 200 Hwy 30 West, will provide free flu vaccines for those 18 years and older on Tuesday, October 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Due to COVID-19, this year’s event will be drive-thru only in the hospital’s parking lot.

“As part of our commitment to keeping our community safe, we are pleased to be able to provide free flu shots this year,” said James Grantham, CEO and administrator of Baptist Union County. “It is recommended that you get a flu shot annually. However, this year it is especially important to get vaccinated because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.”

This year more than ever, during the pandemic, it is even more crucial for everyone—especially the elderly—to get a flu shot. It’s the best way to avoid getting the flu, which could keep you out of the hospital during the busy fall and winter months.

Vehicles can start lining up at 1:30 p.m., and participants will need to enter through the designated area from the front entrance of the hospital. Participants need to remain in their vehicles and complete a brief consent form.  Vehicles will exit out onto Oxford Road.  For more information, please call 662-538-2613.
