Baptist Union County welcomes new physician

NEW ALBANY, MISS., July 25, 2016 – Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County recently announced the addition of J. Matthew Rhinewalt, M.D. to its medical staff.

Rhinewalt is a double board-certified physician, specializing in internal medicine and pediatrics.

A native of Columbus, Miss., Rhinewalt graduated magna cum laude from medical school and completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. He recently completed a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Before attending medical school, he attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and Mississippi University for Women, earning a bachelor of science in nursing.

“Dr. Rhinewalt is a well-rounded addition to our growing roster of physicians,” said Walter Grace, CEO and administrator of Baptist Union County. “With his amicable personality and advanced clinical skills, he will assist the hospital in our goal of raising the collective health of the community.”
