Two New Albany businesses struck by vehicles in one day

Not one but two New Albany businesses had vehicles crash into their fronts Wednesday.

One was Endless Summer Boutique and Tanning Salon at 510 West Bankhead. Deputy Fire Chief Mark Whiteside said police were investigating the cause but the driver was uninjured. A customer walking out the door was injured, however, and reported being transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County with non-life-threatening injuries.

Damage to the building appeared to be cosmetic including glass and door hardware rather than structural.

Even less information was available about the second incident, which building inspector Eric Thomas said he understood was at K’s Tobacco and Brew Too at 204 Starlyn Lane.

The fire department was not dispatched to the K’s Tobacco incident and this contributed to the lack of information.
