City beautification awards presented Saturday

City of New Albany Beautification Awards were presented Saturday morning, Nov. 7.

The residential award went to the home of Shawn and Mary Scott Sanks at 301 South Central Avenue. The young couple recently renovated the property including new landscaping.

The institutional award went to the Cleveland Street Church, 200 Cleveland Street. Rebecca and Roger Browning planted the begonias, sasanqua, camellias and other landscaping in front of the historic church building. Roger Browning is pastor of the non-denominational church, which was formerly an Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARP).

The Cleveland Street Church was awarded to Institutional Beautification Award. Shown are Sandy Shaddinger, Jolyn Cooke and  Rebecca Browning.

The awards were present by Sandy Shaddinger and Jolyn Cooke of the New Albany Sustainability Advisory Committee.
