Fatal Shooting in Lee County

Lee County- A fatal shooting took place in Lee County. On Monday, February 24, Lee County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to A 1 Tire Company at 2856 HWY 178 in Skyline. According to the caller, several people had been shot at the business.

After the scene had been processed, deputies found the weapons used during the shooting. It was determined that Terrance Deon Shumpert and Clyde Wallace were both shot in the altercation. It appears that there had first been an argument, which was escalated when shots were exchanged.

A person of interest was also found on the scene and arrested.

Both of the victims were taken to the North Mississippi Medical Center for their injuries. Terrance Deon Shumpert died at the hospital, while Clyde Wallace received surgery for his injuries. The condition of Mr. Wallace is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing and will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury once it is complete.
