Linda Everett to review “Jefferson’s Daughters…” at Luncheon with Books

Jefferson's Daughters, Luncheon with Books

Friends of the Library will sponsor Luncheon with Books at the Jennie Stephens Smith Library in New Albany on Tuesday, February 19.

Linda Everett will review Jefferson’s Daughters Three Sisters, White and Black, in a Young America, written by Villanova University history professor Catherine Kerrison.

Thomas Jefferson had three daughters. Martha and Maria were by his wife, and Harriett was by his slave Sally Hemings. Catherine Kerrison has written a triple biography of the three sisters. She found never-before-published documents written by the Jefferson girls in their teens and letters by members of the Jefferson and Hemings families. Kerrison initiated DNA testing and interviewed family descendants of the Hemings.

A light lunch will be served at 11:30 AM with the program to begin at noon.
