All MS Community and Junior college athletic activities postponed -

ALL MACJC ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES POSTPONED AMID CORONAVIRUS CONCERNS

BOONEVILLE, Miss. – The Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) has announced the immediate suspension of all athletic events, including competitions and practices, until March 30 based on the latest developments regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This includes all spring sports programs sponsored by Northeast Mississippi Community College, which includes baseball, softball and men’s golf.

Northeast’s baseball team recently concluded the non-conference portion of its 2020 schedule with a 16-2 record and No. 9 ranking by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Northeast softball is 10-3 overall and 1-1 in MACJC play while the golf team is No. 15 in the latest Golfstat rankings for NJCAA Division II members after competing in the Coastal Alabama Invitational last month.

Official plans for potential makeup dates for all postponed games will be released after further consultation with the conference office.

The Northeast Mississippi High School Softball Classic that was scheduled to be played from March 13-14 at the brand new “Field of Dreams” complex is cancelled as well.
