Middle School holds special Veterans Day program

Veterans stand at Middle School program

New Albany Middle School hosted a Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11 in Memorial Gym.  Principal Paul Henry welcomed and thanked veterans and guests in attendance.  The colors were presented by the New Albany High School Junior Air Force ROTC; the pledge was led by student Maya McColly; and, the National Anthem was performed by members of the 8th Grade Advanced Girls Choir.  Veterans were recognized and asked to stand when their branch of the military’s medley was played.  Veteran Charles Hefner gave a moving speech about his time in the high school ROTC program and what it means to be a veteran.  Hefner presented Henry with a gift thanking NAMS for hosting a Veterans Day Program.  Following the program, veterans were treated to a reception hosted by the Life Skills class.
