About the case count: The MS Department of Health currently updates its map and statistics each morning with test results from the previous day. Outside laboratories also report positive test results, which are included the totals.

Mississippi statistics

As of 6:00 PM March 30, Mississippi State Department of Health reported 90 new cases of Covid-19 and 4 new deaths. This brings the statewide total to 937 cases and 20 deaths. MSDH also reports that 32% of the cases have been hospitalized. the MSDH ab itself has tested 4454 individuals, 407 (9%) of whom were positive. 17 of the hospitalized cases are beneath the age of 40.

Governor Reeves announced this morning that the state has issued a shelter-in-place order for Lauderdale County, effective through April 14.

  • Total US cases: 140, 904 (+18, 251)
  • Total US deaths:  2405    (+293)

The CDC reminds that there is a domestic travel advisory in place for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Total active cases and deaths reported in Northeast MS area by county:

Tishomingo County reported its first positive case yesterday, There are 11 new cases in nine Northeast MS counties. Lafayette County reports its first death.

Statewide coronavirus testing sites available:

Northeast Mississippi medical providers are making COVID-19 testing available through locations statewide.

These are not Mississippi State Department of Health testing sites. Local testing providers below have informed us that they are providing fast-track COVID-19 testing locations.

Cost: Individual test providers will set their own testing fee. Ask about the cost of testing when you call a test provider

These providers require that you have symptoms of COVID-19 in order to be tested: a fever of 100.4 or greater and severe cough or chest pain.

You should call ahead before visiting to make testing arrangements.
