Tanglefoot Trailhead Plaza gets Little Free Library

For anyone who thinks the Tanglefoot Trailhead Plaza is a good place to relax and read, a new resource is available.

A Little Free Library was installed there this past week by Union County Library Director Sissy Bullock. The library was donated by New Albany native and author Dr. Joe Edd Morris.

The Little Free Library operates on a sort of honor system. Anyone who wants may take a book to read. People are encouraged to replace a book with another book, but that is not required. The Union County Library will replace books if the number in the little library drops.

From left are library staff member Alma Carter, director Bullock and Shellie Zeigler, who is library consultant for the Union County Library System from the Mississippi Library Commission.

There is an unofficial little free library on Glade between Bankhead and Main, a micro library on a cart at Nichols Deli and a free book exchange on the library porch as well.
