A search for a woman believed to be missing somewhere along the Tallahatchie River in Union County, downstream from New Albany, will resume at 8 a.m. Sunday morning, Jan. 3.

The woman was reported missing by a person or persons who may have been with her in a boat.

A large contingent of public safety personnel have been searching for the woman all day Saturday. Darkness having fallen, most searchers have suspended their efforts.

Much of the Tallahatchie River bottom is flooded because of considerable rain in recent days. Overnight temperatures are expected to fall to as low as 33F degrees in Union County Saturday night.
