Shop the Block draws trick-or-treaters

A bevy of costumed youngsters and even some costumed adults attended The New Albany Main Street Association’s “Shop the Block for Charity” event Friday.

This time the event benefited the Boys and Girls Club with a percentage of all member food and retail sales going to the club.

The theme for the Halloween Eve celebration was “Trick or Treat Trail,” and local organizations had candy and game stations while participating merchants had tents and outdoor tables set up. The event was from 5 to 8 p.m. and many of the merchants also offered special deals and sales.

The Union County Library, Kountry Kids Daycare, Highland House, Boys & Girls Club, Union County Anchor Club and First Baptist Church were all scheduled to participate.
