National Weather Service issues Flood Warnings for northeast MS rivers
The Little Tallahatchie River in Union County and the Tombigbee River in Monroe County are forecast to bring minor flooding to northeast Mississippi this weekend.

County spends $239-thousand for new roof for “oogly,” un-used old jail
It will take much more than a $239,000 new roof to make use of the unused old county jail behind the Union County Courthouse.

The treacherous weather and road conditions apparently did not keep enough people home, according to the number of accident reports.

In addition to putting a new roof on the leak-prone old jail, the grant is paying for more repair work to the county courthouse.

There were some typical dispute and theft reports but several different horses presented safety hazards around the county.
