Nettleton Woman Shot, Two Suspects Arrested

Nettleton- Donald J Denton Sr. 45, and Donald J Denton Jr. 23, were both arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault today.  At 1:56 am, Lee County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a home on CR 100 in Nettleton. Upon arrival, officers found a female that had suffered gunshot wounds to the back and head.

Officers also found a male subject on the scene. The female, and the two men charged were planning to lure the subject into the home, to attack him. When the man arrived, he did not enter the home. Instead, he remained in the vehicle. The woman joined the man in his vehicle, and tried to convince him to come into the house.

When the man did not join her in the home, the two suspects came from the residence and opened fire with a shotgun and a rifle, hitting the woman. She was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center for treatment.
