Union County primary election results by precinct

Here are the election results for Union County from the presidential preference primary Tuesday broken down by precinct.

All 20 precincts followed the same trend in varying degrees, clearly favoring incumbent Republican president Donald Trump, Democratic challenger Joe Biden and senate candidate Mike Espy.

Although the amounts were different, Biden received about four times as many votes as challenger Bernie Sanders.

Lesser-known presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard did receive a few votes as did Michael Bloomberg and a couple of other candidates who had suspended their campaigns before Tuesday. Bloomberg received 3.6 percent of the vote.

Generally speaking, votes for other than Trump, Biden, Sanders and Espy were cast in precincts closer to New Albany, although they still only represented a minuscule amount.

The county total includes machine votes and absentee ballots from all 20 precincts. Not included were 11 affidavit ballots. Those are used when a voter wants to participant but cannot present an approved photo ID, or when a voter may have changed information but not updated it in voter registration records. Anyone who voted an affidavit ballot has until next Tuesday to verify identity or information.
