The annual Back-to-School Health Fair at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County drew several hundred people from Union and nearby counties Saturday morning, July 24th.
Although rainy weather threatened, the showers held off until shortly after the health fair ended at 11 a.m. In fact, considering it was late July in Mississippi, the temperatures and humidity were relatively mild.
The event featured displays of emergency equipment including a medical helicopter and more than 25 informative booths.
School supplies were available on a first come, first served basis.
Information and advice was available available from a numerous medical professionals.
Local law enforcement and fire departments had personnel and equipment on site and public safety officers engaged in conversations with curious children and adults
